Full Version: Saban's VR Troopers
DJ T-Tom
Does anybody remember way back when the show that was made by Saban at the same time MMPR was around, VR Troopers?

I remember that I would always watch MMPR, then right after the show, VR Troopers would come on, and I'd watch that as well.

But what I want to know is, who else here is old enough or have seen VR Troopers TV show as a kid? Does it bring back memories?

As a side note: Maybe, we could post episodes of VR Troopers in the Download section with PR, seeing as how Saban did make it. However, it's just an idea, please don't hold it against me.

Yeah I remember VR Troopers, I have a couple action figures around here somewhere.

You won't be seeing downloads of VR Troopers here though; this is a Power Rangers site, and it's probably already hard enough to get Power Rangers episodes. Though I wouldn't mind seeing it again. Are the two japanese shows it's based on still being produced? If so I wouldn't mind seeing a new series.

We are VR! laugh.gif

I totally remember this show, there were some pretty memorable moments that came from this, almost as good as PR, but not quite. The few things I remember, were the episode with the power going out, and that guy had to use the bicycle to fuel the machine, so they could go into cyberspace, that was funny.

I also remember Slice and Dice, because they were the most bad ass pair of villains this side of the morphing grid. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif Hell, now I want a sig with those guys, off to do a picture search.

I also heard a rumor, that after PR's success, they were planning on using Jason David Frank to play the lead role in VR Troopers, don't know if it's true, but it would have been hella funny if that actually happened. laugh.gif

The pilot for VR Troopers which I believe was called Cybertron. Jason David Frank played the role as Adam Steele (which was changed when VR Troopers to Ryan when it first started). He was going to continue doing VR Troopers. But apparently the demand was so high for him to go back to Power Rangers. He didn't really have a choice. Brad Hawkins who played Ryan Steele from the debut episode of VR Troopers on. Was supposed to have the role as the White Ranger in Mighty Morphin. More an likely if Jason was in VR instead of going back to MMPR. The show would of been more successful. Every kid who loved the shows back in the day. I'm pretty sure a majority of them thought JDF was one of the greatest humans to walk the Earth.

As for the show itself. I actually liked it quite a bit growing up. That, and Mighty Morphin always tied for first in my books. I would watch VR before show, and Mighty Morphin afterwords. Most of the time both were recorded on tape. Time slots were just weird, and I usually left early, and got home late. Earlier this year I tried downloading some VR Troopers episodes. Honesrtly, it's just not the same as it was when I was growing up. I just couldn't get into anymore. Which put into question. How am I still a fan of the Zordon era? Either way when it first aired back in 1994 it was amazing.
