Full Version: Where's Ryu?
Dane92
It seems as though Ryu hasn't been online for at least 3 weeks, I was just wondering where he is. The last time I spoke to him, he was talking about his new computer and I haven't seen him online for at least 3 weeks now. I know everybody has busy lifes and I myself don't always post, I try to when I can. I was just wondering if anybody knows anything about, I suppose Ty might?

Actually, none of us know where he is. A few weeks ago he just packed up a bunch of things and drove away. He said he wanted to see the country, because there was nothing left for him here.

Ahahha, I gots you! He's around. I saw him earlier tonight. He is probably around here in spirit. You know, lurking around as a guest.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm fairly certain that Ryu is burnt out on Generation Z for now. He will likely come back sometime within the next few weeks.

Generation Z sometimes is just a hassle, so we eventually get burnt out. We stay away for a few days (or even weeks) and usually come back with better attitudes on the boards. Ryu is probably just taking a break, but I'm sure he'll be back in the near future.

Cheers guys, thanks for replying to my posts. I hope Ryu can overcome being burnt out, I know I have felt like that before. I am sure he will receive a warm welcome when he comes back.

Hey guys. Guess who?

That’s right, I’m officially back. Sorry for leaving you guys hanging with no explanation as to why I’d be away for awhile, but things in my life started to happen that just caused me to burn out completely on my internet life. Really the only website that’s even seen me remotely lately would be Facebook. Though I promise Generation Z will get an abundance from me now.

What caused me to burn out? Well I’ll try and explain best I can and I promise to try to not write a book on it. If you want to be spared reading this I won’t feel bad. Just skip down to the last paragraph.

I guess you could all say this started at the end of April. As you all know I was laid-off from my previous employer at the end of February due to the economy. I was told that when they could hire again I’d be on the list to call back, and that the only thing stopping them from hiring us full-time, there were two others who were let go at the same time with me, was a hiring freeze that had just been put into place. However, about the last week of April, I acquired information that the two other employees’ who were laid-off alongside me had been called back to work part-time even though the hiring freeze was still in place. So I decided to do a little investigating and found out they were told not to tell me. This ate me up for quite awhile and made me lose interest in pretty much everything.

On top of that, the first week in May was when; I had my huge semester tests for college since I was graduating. In every course they made us take a test over anything/everything we learned the previous two years. I think I did alright, but I could’ve done better since the layoff situation was always in the back of my mind.

On the weekend of May 9th, I graduated and attended my graduation ceremony. Needless to say that weekend was pretty booked for me due to the fact some of my classmates were having graduation parties, which none of them happened to be in town, so I had to drive about 55 miles to one, then 20 miles to another, and finally about 45 miles to the last one. The following weekend Tyrailius and I had our graduation parties. We decided to have them on the same day so we could avoid having to setup and teardown twice. Another factor that played into my party being postponed an extra week was the fact that I turned 21 on the 11th. (Which, by the way, thanks to any/all that wished me a Happy Birthday in our Happy Birthday thread!) So there was beer at my party. The only disappointing part was that only one of the three people whose party I attended came to mine. The other two had valid excuses, but yeah, hopefully those of you who are reading understand where I’m coming from.

I decided after all the stress of getting ready and cleaning for graduation I was going to take a week or two off from here. Unfortunately that turned into a longer vacation then planned. Though during that time I decided to write the President of the company whom I’ve previously mentioned asking a few questions of my own.

This leads me to the final day in May and the first day in June. I promise I’m almost done, thanks for sticking with me. While I was employed I told the Relay for Life team I was with last year that I’d gladly be on their team again. Therefore when they called me asking if I was still interested I said yes. For those unaware Relay for Life is an all night event to help raise funds for the cure of cancer. Since then my sleep pattern has been all messed up, and this previous week I dedicated to getting my resume back out on the market and trying to find another job.

And with that my book of the last month and a half of my life is complete.

Tyrailius and I have been planning some changes to Generation Z. You guys have been alerted on one of them, ala the BETA Forums, but more are yet to come! We look forward to bringing them all to you!

It's great to have you back Ryu, I've been meaning to ask you something about the downloads for awhile now. Anyway I really appreciate you telling us why you were away, some people may have just said "It's none of your business". The forum hasn't been the same around without you.
