There was a topic like this about a year ago, but it was probably best to start a new one. Also I'm kinda lazy like that to go searching through pages of topics to find it.

Astro-Boy
I never really got into any of Astro-Boy before, but the movie looks pretty sweet. It can't be any worse than Speed Racer, which I never saw but heard ghastly things about.

Paranormal Activity
This is supposed to be a scerrry movie and from what I've seen in previews, it should be. It just recently got released nationwide with help from voters like me. Ting. But it hasn't made its way to our theater yet. I hope for all things good in this world that we will get it, we don't need to see Michael Jackson's movie, even if it is only for 2 weeks.

2012
This probably won't be a groundbreaking movie by any sorts, and could potentially suck. But the action looks crazy and I pretty much see every movie that involves total world destruction.

The Fourth Kind
I just saw the previews for this tonight, and I about wet myself out of enjoyment. AN ALIEN MOVIE BASED ON ABDUCTIONS AND SEEMINGLY WITHOUT CRAZY PLOTS OR BATTLE SCENES? Yiiiipppeeeeeeee! I've seen movies like District 9, Dreamcatcher, and all those alien movies, but they always get too ridiculous. I just want to see something realistic and with the stereotypical little green men. That's the kind of thing that scares the piss out of people, not an alien concentration camp or anything like that. The only thing I've ever seen like that was Spielberg's minseries Taken on Sci-Fi about 6-7 years ago. Now that was good television.

Then I can add Wolfman, Iron-Man 2 and just about every other movie I've been drooling about for a few years now.

Aww. I considered bumping the topic a day or two ago. Bah, whatever. Pumjetsu made this topic, therefore, I declare it to be good. But yeah. I keep on hearing stuff about Wolfman, but have yet to see anything involved with it and that makes me very sad. Anthony Hopkins? ANTHONY HOPKINS? This is a definite must see.

Also, 2012. Having seen The Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day and 10,000 BC (not to mention that trainwreck, Godzilla), I know it'll probably suck, but I'm a sucker for Amanda Peet and most movies she stars in. Even the bad ones are made five percent better just by her presence. So, at the very least, I'll enjoy her role in it. Not to mention the rest of the cast. John Cusack, I have a history of trouble with (he was in Con Air - an awesome movie, but he was also in Must Love Dogs which was puke-worthy) but is another reason to check it out. Thandie Newton (better known as hot chick from M:I; II), Oliver Platt (Harry Rex? A Time to Kill? Don't you people watch awful John Grisham movies!?), Danny Glover and then the always fantastic Woody Harrelson. So, I go against my better judgment, and will see this one on the release day.

Other than that, the only movie I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to see is Sherlock Holmes. Guy Ritchie directing a Sherlock Holmes movie? With Robert Downey, Jr. as the titular character? Jude Law as John Watson and then Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler (who will be the love interest!? Yippee! I am a happy boy that Norton got the shaft)? While Guy Ritchie directs the movie? Jesus Christ, I would give my left testicle to see this movie on midnight, opening day. Yeah, Christmas day, it won't happen (I will see it on the twenty-sixth though, no questions asked) since I'll be spending the holiday with Lake and her family (excited). No, I never read the novels or short stories religiously, but they are all well written and all entertaining. Then, you take a look at everyone's track record and there's no way this movie will be bad. Seriously? I haven't been this excited since I heard Watchmen was being adapted to the big screen. So yeah, looking forward to is too ill a term, here.

Other than that, movies I'd like to see include Toy Story 3, the A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, Law Abiding Citizen (yes it's out, but not seeing it out of a want of food and a Halloween costume), Everybody's Fine and Shutter Island. Shutter Island in particular. For one, it's a Dennis Lehane novel and Dennis Lehane is a great author. Two, Martin Scorsese. That should seal the deal right there. If not, the movie will feature both Leonardo Dicaprio (in the lead role) and Jackie Earle Haley as a mutilated, psychotic patient. It's going to be incredible, nonetheless. Also, Toy Story 3 because I enjoy the first two movies, to this day and the set-up for the plot already promises a lot of laughs.

That was a lot longer than I intended it to be. Either way, it was fun.

2012
I really love these types of movies. Independence Day, and The Day After Tomorrow were pretty decent movies. Water World is probably one of the best I've seen revolving around this genre. From the previews I've seen the movie doesn't look that bad at all. If I do go see it. I'm just hoping it's not one of those movies that have all the best parts in the previews, and the actual movie itself sucks.

The Vampires Assistant
I'm not a big fan of vampire movies at all. Besides Interview with the Vampire. As far as the books of Cirque Du Freak go. I enjoyed this quite a bit. Unlike the Twilight series which I couldn't stand what so ever. Plus, John C Reilly is in this movie, and he is a pretty entertaining actor.

Toy Story 3
I didn't like the second one. But the first one was a classic. Plus, I'm interested to see how this one is going to turn out. I doubt I'm going to pay the 9-10 bucks to see it in a theater. I'll probably just wait until it comes out on DVD. Or find a torrent of it.

I'm not that big of a movie goer, I usually end up just renting/buying it when it gets released on DVD or Blu-Ray.

I am looking forward to seeing Toy Story 3 in theaters though. I've been following it since it announced, and it's premise sounds pretty cool. Not too mention I'm crazy about the other Toy Story movies (and the buzz lightyear spinoff). So yeah, I'll definitely be one of the first in line when this comes out.

I might also go see Paranormal Activity. I voted to have it in theaters cause the trailer looked cool. Then like 2 days later I saw a commercial for it saying it was playing in theaters. I'm not sure I'll see it in theaters though, I might just wait and rent it later. We'll see.

I am also looking forward to 2012 and Sherlock Holmes. The casting for Sherlock Holmes was the main draw for me.

Other movies that look good:

Princess and the Frog- Disney is going back to old school animation and I can't wait!! Not to mention the story is set in New Orleans, of which I have extremely fond memories. smile.gif

Couple's Retreat- The trailers for this are quite funny. I probably won't go to see the movie in theatres, but I will look for it at Blockbuster when it comes out.

The movies I am really, really looking forward to are the new Marvel and DC ones planned for the next couple of years. I especially want to see Thor, Captain America, and the second Iron Man. If the new movies continue to be as good as the first Iron Man was, I will be a very happy camper.

Not really a movie goer but look forward to seeing how Disney fares going back to classic hand drawn 2D animation with Princess And The Frog. I was worried that Disney were going to permanently get away from classic 2D hand drawn art but thanfully that attitude has now changed. Disney, starting with Princess and the Frog are going to produce a new 2D hand drawn movie every two to three years.

Movies like Toy Story are great and all but nothing beats 2D Disney like Lion King, Aladdin etc.

I definitely want to go see the following movies once they release.

Ong-Bak 2

Ok, technically I can already buy this on DVD directly imported from Thailand with subs, but then again, it is not going to be officially released in the US for a little while. That being said, I won the first one, and loved it. Nice to know that Cambodia finally has TWO people that are famous in the US. (Yes, it's not a lie, Tony Jaa is Cambodian, NOT Thai.)

Sherlock Holmes

Okay, there really isn't much I can say about this other than it looks interesting in a good kind of way.

The Missing Person

Seems interesting.

Bad Lieutenant

It's the new Nick Cage movie. This too, looks interesting.

Ninja Assassin

Okay, despite my skepticism of this movie, there's something that's drawing me in, and I don't know what. I'm not the biggest fan of over-the-top stereotypical movies, but there's just something that makes me want to see this movie.

Driven To Kill

This is the next new Steven Seagal movie. Enough said.

The Terminators

The new Terminator Movie

Prince of Persia

Lets hope this one doesn't get screwed up like DOA, Dragonball, or Street Fighter was.

From Paris with Love

IT's a James Bond parody taking place in France. It looks promising.

Daybreakers

It's the Future. The world is run by vampires trying to find a food source. Think our dwindling oil supplies, except with vampires and blood instead of fossil feuls.

I can't wait to see them.

The only thing right now I'm looking forward too is that Sherlock Holmes movie. I've seen a lot of trailers of other movies but none of them interested me but that Sherlock Holmes.

I'm waiting mainly the Holmes movie, the Ninja Assassin(seems quite interesting), vampire's assistant and also:

Harry Brown: A British film that tells about "one man‘s journey through a chaotic world where drugs are the currency of the day and guns run the streets." It's going to be interesting especially that it has Michael Caine as a lead so it should be good.

The Fourth Kind: Okay it's about alien abduction but it might turn out to be quite interesting, at least the trailer seemed interesting.

Those movies I'm mainly waiting at the moment but more are coming/announced all the time so I'm certain to come back to this post often.

OMG! I wont give any details away, but Paranormal Activity was the scariest movie I've EVER seen!! I didn't think I'd be scared and if I was it wouldn't be bad. After the movie my friend and I were driving home and getting freaked by every little thing. MUST SEE movie IF you like horror. It's worth it!

I really want to see Sherlock Holmes; that lookes really cool, with Robert Downing, Jr. and Jude Law. It's not childish and it seems like it may actually be interesting.

Another movie that looks awesome is Surrogutes (sp?). It sound like a cool concept, but IDk if it will be much different from other robot movies.

The one movie I'm dyeing to see is Avatar. It looks sooo cool; I cannot wait! The effects seem awesome and the storyline is really neat.

2012 seems interesting. I'm definitley going to go see it, but it may be boring. Lately they've been releasing a lot of 'end of the world' type movies. The cool thing about this movie though is that it's supposed to be the end of the world because the Mayan calender ends, so it may be different.

In my opinion, Surrogates wasn't a very good movie. Now, it wasn't really bad or anything, but it's hardly noteworthy. The only reason I went to see it was Bruce Willis, and even he couldn't get me interested in what was going on. An all around mediocre experience.

That's just my opinion though. You might like it. Might.

Well, I thought I'd bump this topic, mainly because I saw two trailers today, of movies I had interest in seeing. One was Bad Lieutenant. Which I have no interest in seeing any longer. Nicolas Cage playing a dickish, stuck up cop who's quite possibly bad (or corrupt, if you're like me and see the mystery Hollywood is "hinting" at)? No thank you. I'll spare myself, considering this looks a lot like one of those Cage movies that looks somewhat promising, but turns out to be jaw-droppingly moronic.

The other is The Wolfman. I'll probably see it, since it has Benecio del Toro, Anthony Hopkins and Hugo Weaving, but from the trailer I saw, it will not come close to living up to the awesome that was the original. It looks like another Blade incident, where the director insists the movie is horror, while it's action, through and through. I've felt more fear when my sisters cat jumped out of the closet at me, then while watching this. I'm not saying it's going to be bad, since chances are that I'll probably like the movie, but I will say this. It's an insult to the original Wolfman movie, as everything that made that film so incredible seems to have been stomped on repeatedly. I suppose I shouldn't be all that surprised.

To end this post on a positive note, I'll say that The Box looks slightly interesting. Not much, but enough to earn the twelve dollars that Bad Lieutenant lost, and enough to earn the respect that The Wolfman lost from me. Yay for mediocre movies? Why not.

ETA: Just to let you know, DJ, the Prince of Persia movie has Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince. So, chances are that it's not going to rock your world in a good way. Maybe rock your world in an Alone in the Dark kind of way, in that it kills all your hopes and dreams in just over an hour and thirty minutes. unsure.gif

I saw this last Sunday, middle of the day, and I'm still having trouble sleeping because of it. Holy... The movie was great, but really scary.

Other movies I'm dying to see:
-The Wolfman
I've always wanted to see a rendition of the Wolfman that wasn't made in the 1930s, and where the main focus was on a single (I think) werewolf.

-Stepfather
I know it's out in theaters now, but I don't think I'm gonna be able to catch it's theatrical run.

-Avatar
The storyline looks amazing, and James Cameron directs. Should explain itself.

-2012
Same as what has been said before. I loved Day After Tomorrow, and hopefully this doesn't disappoint.

-The Last Airbender
I loved the show (although I didn't get to see all the episodes), so I figured I'll take a look at the movie. M. Night Shyalamon directing will be a plus (hopefully. I've figured I'm the only person who liked The Happening).

-Ninja Assassin
It looks phenomenal. It will probably suck, but I'll still pay to see it.

-Alice in Wonderland
Ok, Tim Burton directing, Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, and Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hatheway. I don't think this can go wrong

-Nightmare on Elm Street
I recently saw the original, and I thought it was "ok" by today's standards. Saw the Friday the 13th remake, and planning on seeing the new Halloweens soon (yes, I've seen all of the originals--at least the first in the franchise). It should be interesting on how they're going to do it without being a direct copy.

I'm excited for Toy Story 3, Ratatouile 2 (Which I'm not sure if it confirmed still. They were talking about it early last year.), Green Lantern, and the Supernatural feature film that was recently confirmed I believe.

Disney's The Princess and the Frog - Disney's attemtp to brign about a new"Golden Age" of 2-D Animation? Count me in! Disney wants to bring back the 2-D, and I hope they manage to pull it off.

The Last Airbender - Huge fan of the series, not sure if I'll like the movie, although the two creators of the series are part of the staff for the film, so we'll see.

Avatar - The "most expensive movie ever made." I've heard a lot about it, and having finally seen a trailer, I can officially say I want to see it.

The Legion - A movie about God losing faith in humanity, and sending angels down to kill us off? Epic. Win. Despite my being a strong Christian. lol.

The Wolfman - I could go either way about it. Not a must-see in theatres, but definitely one I wouldn't mind seeing someday.

Can't think of any others at the moment, though I'm sure there are more.
